Provenance
Given to the vendor's father's nurse Molly Telford by Margaretta Eagar, nurse to the children of Tsar Nicholas of Russia. These shoes are supposed to have been worn by the Tsarevich Alexei, but are more likely from one of the Grand Duchesses.
Margaretta Eagar served as nurse in the Royal household from 1898-1904, and wrote a memoir in 1906, 'Six Years at the Russian Court'.
