Lot Essay

Glen Feshie, in the recently created Cairngorms National Park in Scotland, is particularly renowned for being a remote area of great beauty, so much so that Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1799-1879) chose this area in which to execute preliminary sketches for his famous painting Monarch of the Glen.
