Lot Essay

In his book on Barend Cornelis Koekkoek, Friedrich Gorissen suggests that the present lot may have been one of a pair. The other painting, a winterlandscape, is recorded with cat.no. 31/56-2, as: Winterlandschaft.

The authenticity of the present lot has kindly been confirmed after firsthand examination by Drs Guido de Werd, director of Haus Koekkoek, Cleves.
