拍品專文

A number of comparable stone reliefs to the present example have been found at Kubadabad and other sites in the Konya region. Typified by a square layout, and more importantly, worked in two planes with engraved lines delineating the contours, they tend to depict either human figures or animals (The Anatolian Civilisations, exhibition catalogue, vol.III, nos. D.151 and 152, p.81). For further examples see Ernst Kühnel Istanbul Arkeoloji Müzelerinde Sahserler, Cilt III: inili Küsk'de Türk ve Islam Eserleri Koleksiyonu, Berlin and Leipzig, 1938. The most impressive of all, which is executed fully in high relief, is in stucco and also depicts running horsemen on vine scroll grounds with fleshy split palmette terminals (Friedrich Sarre Der Kiosk von Konia, Berlin, 1936, pl.11).
