Of long tapering rectangular form with domed upper terminal, the top with a lower open compartment surmounted above by a panel covering the inkwell with hinged cover, the top and underside with silver-inlaid scrolling arabesques, the sides with similar silver-inlaid naskh benedictory inscriptions on a scrolling ground, small areas of restoration

The inscription reads: al-'izz wa al-iqbal wa al-dawla wa al-sa'ada wa al-za'id wa al-ziyada al-ta'id wa al-'afiya wa al-'inaya wa al-baqa da'im li-sahibihi (Glory and Prosperity and Wealth and Happiness and Abundance (God's) Support and Health and (God's) Favour and Long-life eternally to its owner).
