A SIGNED AND DATED QAJAR POLYCHROME LACQUER QALAMDAN IN THE STYLE OF MUHAMMAD ISMAIL, IRAN, LATE 19TH CENTURY
Of typical form, painted to top and sides with scenes from the Shahnameh the figures contained within ovals and identified in black nasta'liq script, the interior with silver ink fitting a tuquoise stone mounted to lid, and a silver spoon, the underneath with hazlenuts and flowers painted on a red ground - 9 1/2in (24cm) long
