Rectangular, the base, sides, and cover of striated agate panels applied with gold rococo cagework, the rim of cover with white enamel border inscribed RIEN N'EST TROP BON POUR CE QU'ON AIME, the cover set with a mirror and opening to reveal a fitted interior with two gold-mounted glass bottles and gold-mounted implements, including tweezers, pen-knife, pencil, spoon, and ivory writing tablet, apparently unmarked
