A LOUIS XV BEECHWOOD AND TAPESTRY CANAPE
MID-18TH CENTURY
Carved throughout with flowerheads, foliage, rockwork and C-scrolls, with a waved toprail, padded arms carved with strapwork and cabochons and a serpentine seat, covered in brass studded associated Aubusson tapestry depicting birds and animals, on cabriole legs with scrolled feet, originally caned and painted, one central front leg possibly replaced and with later cross-struts, the seat-rails re-supported on inner surfaces
