A Fine and Rare Dutch Pewter Shabbat and Festival Hanging Oil Lamp
Apparently unmarked, the Netherlands, circa 1770
This lamp of typical Portuguese Jewish form, consisting of six detachable parts:
-1) Top suspension hook
-2) Crown applied with a laurel and ribbon-tied portrait medallion border
-3) Vase-shaped short stem mounted with conforming laurel border and ribbon-tied portrait medallion.
-4) Seven-light oil lamp applied with matching laurel and ribbon-tied portrait medallion border, baluster and cornered shape spout.
-5) Circular-shaped drip bowl similarly applied with laurel border and ribbon-tied portrait medallion.
-6) Foliage cone weight
90 cm. (35.3 in.) high
