Lot Essay

Daniel De Loose, maître in 1767.

Of Flemish origin, De Looose established his business initially in the rue Saint-Nicolas, and later in the rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine until his death in 1788. He worked in the Transitional and Louis XVI styles, generally employing a rather sober range of marquetry and parquetry techniques, but also worked with other ébénistes including Jacques Laurent Cosson and Georges Jansen.
