Lot Essay

The jade arc of the current lot is of very fine quality and material, and could have come from the royal Zhou tombs in Jincun. Compare a larger disc in the British Museum with similar linked scrolls, illustrated by Lawson and Michaelson in Chinese Jade V From the Neolithic to the Qing, British Museum, London, 1995, no. 17:2, p. 264.
