A RARE BLUE AND WHITE FLARING VASE
CHONGZHEN (1628-44)
With deep rounded sides rising gently to a tall flaring rim and standing on a high ring foot, painted to the exterior in strong inky-blue tones with numerous officials and attendants in an exterior scene beside a tall presentation platform, with vapour rising amidst the trees and rocks of a mountain valley on the reverse, all between incised line borders above the foot and foliate band at the rim
