Lot Essay

Mostafa Dashti is the painter of limitless horizons, roads, fields, cities, suburbs, mountains and clouds. In Dashtis paintings there is rarely even a ghost of human like figures, but the absent man of his paintings appears as an observant painter anxious about deep understanding of facing landscapes of his trips, not like a naturalist photographer showing the facing reality in details, but like an abstract painter who records reality with fewest numbers of its natural components and highest visual expression. Nature appears in his works as a concrete volume, in its plastic totality.

This painting is from the collection of Ms. Manijeh Mir-Emadi (Nasseri). A hugely influential figure in the Iranian cultural scene, Ms. Miremadi is a painter and the Editorial Director of Tavoos Art Magazine and also the Director of Iranian Art Publishing.
