Lot Essay

We are grateful to Mr Fred Meijer of the RKD for confirming the attribution to the artist after inspection of the original (verbal communication, 26 August 2008). He compares the present lot to the picture in the Museum Bredius, The Hague, dated 1664 (no. 77-1946).
