The view is from the north/north-east looking towards Rotterdam, with the tower of the Laurenskerk on the horizon to the right and the Rubroedsemolen, the wooden mill in the vicinity of the Delftse Poort. The manor house on Zwaanseiland, the island in the foreground, was called 'Crooswijck'.
