The North Cotswold Hunt began in 1772 when the 250 square mile area covering the Northern part of Gloucestershire and the Southern corner of Worcestershire was part of the extensive hunting ground of the Earls of Berkeley. In 1868 the hunt split and became a subscription pack opened up to local landowners and businessmen. The coronet on the Hunt button relates to George William, Viscount Deerhurst and 9th Earl of Coventry (1838-1930) who was the first Master of the Hunt.
