A ROYALIST SILVER-MOUNTED OAK PATCH BOX
UNMARKED, PROBABLY MID-17TH CENTURY
The cover centred by a silver boss engraved with the Boscobel Oak concealing three crowns within its foliage and flanked by the initials CR for Charles II and the date 1648 below, the sides inscribed Ferryhill. The wood of this box is a peice (sic) of the Royal oak. T:Davison (damage to wood on cover and base)
