EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). Autograph letter signed ('Albert') to his first wife, Mileva, London, 25 July 1934, one page, 4to, with an autograph note signed by Hans Albert Einstein ('Adu') on verso, pencil numbering '230' to upper margin. Provenance: Mileva Einstein-Maric; and by descent.
Elsa Einstein passed on Mileva's request for 3,000 SFr, and although he hastened to the bank in Oxford to send the money he is worried it may not have arrived in time. She is to telephone Herr Dukas to tell him that instruction has been given, at that the money will 'at least nearly' arrive in time. Einstein will be in London for a further week before returning to Le Coq near Ostend. A note on the verso to Mileva from Hans Albert informs her that he has tried to reach Dukas about the matter without success.
