A GEORGE III MAHOGANY ARMCHAIR
Late 18th century
The rectangular back with canted angles to the toprail above a triple back splat and out-scrolled arms, the blue and yellow geometric patterned cotton upholstered seat on square tapering legs and spade feet
Together with two further mahogany side chairs, one with a shield- shaped back and another with a rectangular back; and a Dutch mahogany inlaid side chair, all late 18th century, the shield-shaped back example bearing a pencil inscription 'Rhinelander 7302' and a paper label for 'Ernest F Hagen/Furniture and Antiques/213 East 26th Street/New York' (4)
