AN AKAN LINGUIST'S STAFF FINIAL

The spherical base carved all over with geometric ornament surmounted by an oval platform on which two figures face each other, a male seated on a typical Akan stool with one hand held to his mouth, and a standing male with one hand held to his ear and the other on his stomach, the whole painted with reddish brown pigment and with remains of gold leaf.
