A KOTA RELIQUARY FIGURE
Gabon
The concave oval face with applied panels of brass, the quadrants with incised horizontal and diagonal lines, applied trinagular nose and crescent eyes, ridge in relief to forehead with incised chevrons, the wide side panels and crescent crest each with hatched borders, the former with flared pendant panels with incised chevrons. The pierced lozenge body with incised brass panels to the upper part, brass ring about neck, the reverse with long slender lozenge in relief, dark patina, accession number 21469.
