EXCELLENT CLARET, MAINLY FROM THE HIGHLY-REGARDED 1982, 1995 AND 1996 VINTAGES
Recently removed from an excellent country house cellar and now lying in Weybridge, Surrey (EHD)

Good appearance. Levels base of neck or better
Tasting Note: ..at Bob Dickinson's installation dinner at the Biltmore, Coral Gables. Spectacular setting, all at one very long table, like a state banquet at Windsor Castle. The '82 was still enormously deep; a very good rich mouthful, leanness not noted but still creaking a bit. Last noted coping with tournedos of Scottish beef at a Vintner's Court luncheon, Nov 2001. Most recently: fairly deep, velvety; classic cedar cigar box nose that opened up deliciously, touch of liquorice; rich but tannic. Unfleshy for an '82. Last tasted Sept 2003 **** M.B.
