2° (365 x 260mm). 4 full-page engraved plates of the four Evangelists, printed in red and black, woodcut initials, text within typographic border. (Lacks title and preliminaries, and ff.4-5 from gathering 29, first engraving of St. Mark torn with loss, margins cropped to border with some loss, some marginal tears and frays.) 20th-century red velvet over wooden boards (overall 470 x 305mm), the upper cover applied with a shaped oval silver-gilt centrepiece, repoussé, chased and engraved with the Resurrection, and four shaped cornerpieces with the Four Evangelists, all with maker's mark of Iakov Fedorov, assay master Ernst Rukh, Moscow, c.1723-28 (some damages), the lower cover applied with a centrepiece with the instruments of the Passion and floral and foliate cornerpieces, maker's mark indistinct, with later clasp, gilt edges.

Iakov Fedorov is recorded as a silversmith in Moscow in the second quarter of the 18th Century, and Ernst Rukh as assay master in the same city 1723-28.
