FIRST EDITION of this collection of works, some of it previously unpublished, comprising his life of A.D. Kantemir, his World of Heroes, and translations of Horace and Phaedrus, Cato and others. Lomonosov praised Barkov for his translations. Barkov also published a short history of Russia, and is well-known for his erotic poetry. Smirnov-Sokol'skii Moia biblioteka 49.
