2 vols in 1, 8° (210 x 125mm). Russian and French parallel text. Engraved frontispiece and 19 engraved plates, some of these hand-coloured, including a folding world map. (Without final blank, occasional faint dampstain and occasional light soiling, map with short tears in the margin.) Recent calf, sides with blind-tooled frame, black morocco labels on the spine. Provenance: a contemporary Russian reader (signature).
The enlarged second edition, comprising over 150 pages and 7 illustrations more than the edition of 1811. Subjects include: Geography, Classical Mythology, Natural History, Astronomy, and others. Obol'ianinov 2767; Sopikov 12735.
