2° (376 x 314mm). Title printed in gilt and various colours, text printed within engraved borders of various colours. Plates and illustrations throughout, some of these mounted and colour-printed. (Short tear in the margin of the last leaf.) Original blue silk and gold brocade, original light blue silk endpapers, original printed silk bookmark, gilt edges, original printed paper covered box (box with short splits at the joints).
FIRST EDITION. A FINE COPY OF THE RARE DELUXE ISSUE, IN THE ORIGINAL BOX. An excellent production, richly illustrated, with a title-page design thought to be by Zvorykin, and bound in silk brocade. The Foedorovsky Cathedral was built by order of Nicholas II and destroyed soon after completion during the 1917 Revolution. Fekula 6375.
