A LARGE BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER, 16TH/17TH CENTURY
with twin upright handles, decorated in low relief to the body with archaistic taotie masks, the slightly domed cover with a seated Budai figure forming the finial, with typical smiling expression and exposed rotund belly, an alms bowl before him, surrounded by a band of pierced trigram motifs, raised on three beast-head supports -- 16in. (40.5cm.) high.
