The CL monogram mark on this vase bears a close resemblance to the LC monogram used by Lambertus Cleffius of 'de Metaale Pot' pottery. For a pair of candlesticks bearing Cleffius's monogram, see Marion S. van Aken-Fehmers, Loet A. Schledorn et al., Delfts Aardewerk, Geschiedenis van een nationaal product, Gemeentemuseum, The Hague, Catalogue (The Hague, 2001), Vol. I, pp. 161 and 174, no. 57.
