A CHANTILLY KAKIEMON SILVER-MOUNTED TELESCOPIC CANE-HANDLE
CIRCA 1740, THE MOUNTS 18TH CENTURY
Of T-shape, painted in the Kakiemon palette with a seated Oriental boy before a branch of stylised prunus and a bird in flight, the silver mounts with shutters to either side concealing a telescope, fitted on a tapering walking-stick (very slight fritting and chipping beneath mounts, some surface scratching to enamels)
4½ in. (11.5 cm.) long overall
