A MEISSEN CREAM-POT, COVER AND STAND
CIRCA 1735-40, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK TO POT AND STAND
Of bulbous form with a flared rim, acanthus-moulded spout, scroll handle and on three paw feet, each side of the body painted in purpurmalerei with estuary scenes with merchants and ships within elaborate gilt and coloured palm frond and leafy branch cartouches with shells, husks, pendant drapery and trellis-pattern panels, divided by indianische Blumen in the Kakiemon palette, the domed cover and stand similarly decorated, the cover with a gilt pine-cone finial, gilt line rims (slight chip to cover, interior rim of cover and footrim)
The stand 7¼ in. (8.1 cm.) diam.
