Jean Michel Basquiat
1978 City As School, Brooklyn, N.Y., paper-bound yearbook featuring photos of and early works by student contributor Jean Basquiat. The teenage Jean Michel is pictured in the yearbook along with early artistic collaborator Al Diaz, as well as an image of their now famous SAMO graffiti tag. At least four early drawings by Basquiat also illustrate the yearbook. Accompanied by the paper program for the June 1977 graduation ceremony, with cover illustration by Basquiat. All pieces come directly from a former student at City As School. 8½x11in. (2)
