The case with turned ivory caps to swan neck pediment and centred by a detachable vase-shaped ivory finial, with shield-shaped back to moulded ebonised urn-shaped cistern cover, this resting on an ivory inlaid plinth, the silvered and engraved register plates with Vernier scale and signed 'W & S JONES No.30/Holborn London'; turned bone Vernier key; mercury removed
