Lot Essay

This pair of candelabra with rare blue glass pedestals, conform to examples attributed to Parker and Perry. The short inner curve of the arm pattern and extended outer curve may be a feature associated particularly with Parker and Perry. The fluted tapering vase-shaped receiver-bowl, nozzles and pedestal all relate closely to examples illustrated in M. Mortimer, The English Glass Chandelier, Woodbridge, 2000, pp. 106-108, plates 53-55.
