The case carved with foliage and flowers and with Bacchic mask to the centre, with moulded brass bezel to unusual two-piece dial, with engraved and silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring and painted centre showing a riverscape with sailing ship, signed on the rear plate of the mock pendulum aperture 'Fran Thompson', the eight day timepiece movement with rectangular plates joined by five pillars and secured to the case with an iron cross-bar to the rear, now converted to anchor escapement; case regilt; pendulum, winding key, case key
