The case with balloon-shaped hood with moulded bezel above a fielded panel, the trunk door with recessed rectangular panel, the demi-lune underside with conforming fielded panel, the 8 in. (20 cm.) diameter silvered and engraved dial of unusual regulator format with outside minute ring and apertures for showing hours and seconds on revolving chapter discs, with blued steel hands, signed 'Burton Kendal/1827', the eight day timepiece movement secured directly to the dial with four ring-turned pillars, weight-driven with anchor escapement; wood-rod pendulum with small lead bob swinging against an ink-inscribed beat scale, large fitted lead weight; crank winding key, case key
