The artist, the daughter of the Austrian court painter Johann Nepomuk Stein, was born in Iglau (Mähren) and married to the apothecary Joseph Krafft in Vienna. She was a celebrated portraitist working in Vienna, Salzburg, Prague and Bamberg.
