GHOST HORSE

Many worthy contenders vie yearly for the title of "World's Most Expensive Wine." The Bordeaux first growths from the superlative vintages of 1945 and 1961 wore the rose garland for much of the early part of this decade, only to face challenges from their brethren in Burgundy, Domaine Romanée Conti, Jayer and the like. Upstarts from Rhône have been worthy adversaries, and cult cabs from the cellars of Screaming Eagle live in the headlines of the world's most expensive.

Nestled among these gems is Ghost Horse, one of the rarest wines in the world whose hefty release price also comes with an entreaty from the winemaker: drink these wines! Owners Todd and Ronnie Anderson built their reputation at respected Conn Valley Vineyards and started Ghost Horse with the mission to craft world and to educate their customer through visits to the winery and time spent with the winemaker Todd himself. Usually one barrel or two is made each year and in some cases, Todd delivers it himself to his customers. This appears to the first time that these coveted wines have been offered on the auction market and in the preferred large format, best for sharing.
