Lot Essay

This little-known Polish artist was a tax-official by profession and as an artist specialised in landscapes and still lifes. He can be characterised as a provincial artist working in and around Lemberg and didn't travel much.

According to a label on the reverse, the sitters represent Franz Freiherr von Krauss and his sister Sophie Maria as children

We would like to thank W. Szatkowski for his help in cataloguing this lot
