With a simulated marble top, both doors with calamander crossbanded convex reverse painted glass pictures of pheasants and a rabbit the interior with a baize lined writing surface and pigeon holes flanked by two banks of three satinwood fronted drawers

The hinged-doors on the upper section and the roll-top flap of this cylinder bureau cabinet relate to a design for a 'Cylinder Desk and Bookcase', Plate XLVII, in Thomas Sheraton's The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Drawing Book, part III, 1793.
