The projecting gilt-tooled leather covered writing slope enclosing fitted interior with short drawers each with turned ivory handles, one operating a locking mechanism for the pen slide, one drawer with the craftsman's pencil inscription 'Thos Towner/1817' the pedestal with two slides, four drawers and three sides of false, on bun feet and recessed castors
