AN AUSTRIAN SILVER-GILT MOUNTED ROCK CRYSTAL CUP
MARK OF HERMANN RATZERSDORFER, VIENNA, CIRCA 1875
In the form of a bird, on oval foot with baluster stem, the upper part of the body detaching to form the cover, applied with two rock crystal wings, the body applied with rock crystal head and tail, the mounts applied with panels of grotesque masks and demi-grotesque monsters and scrolls enamelled in green, red, white, and black and applied between with jewels and hung beneath the neck with a pendant foiled emerald, marked underneath and on cover.
