AN AUSTRIAN SILVER-GILT, ENAMEL AND LAPIS LAZULI TANKARD
MARK OF HERMANN RATZERSDORFER, VIENNA, CIRCA 1880
Cylindrical and on spreading domed foot, enamelled with piles of fruit, flowers and foliage in white, green, purple, red and black, the body of the tankard inset with numerous rectangular panels of lapis lazuli with gilt bands between, with scroll handle and hinged domed cover, the cover similarly enamelled and with white, gilt and orange enamelled fluted edge, lacking finial and thumbpiece, marked on foot and on cover bezel
