Cylindrical on three paw-capped ball feet, the sides chased with landscapes with buildings, separated by trailing foliage, the hinged cover with fruit finial and double scroll thumbpiece, marked underneath and on cover

Lot Essay

A similar tankard, also by Müllner, is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum, New York and is illustrated in Nürnberger Goldschmiedekunst 1541-1868, Nuremburg, 2007, vol. II, p. 924, no. 547.
