Tasting note: A prodigious wine, Dugat's black-colored 2001 Chambertin boasts a blackberry, chocolate, tar, and dark cherry-filled nose. Medium to full-bodied, supple, sweet, and thick, its voluminous, harmonious character conquers the palate with unbelievably dense layers of lush black fruits. A viscous, yet perfectly-balanced effort, it sports an imposing, seemingly unending finish. This stately Burgundy transcends its vintage. Wow! Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020+. (97-100 points).
