Dom Pérignon--Vintage 1970
Damaged capsule. Bin-soiled label
Tasting note: An interesting pair of freshly disgorged bottles: first, in September 1996 bottles disgorged the previous month: pale; excellent, lightly oaky-smoky bouquet; dry, crisp. refined. Very good. Next, a bottle disgorged in 1998: very pale; very rich, smoky nose; sweet approach, dry farewell. Even at this age, a very distinct Pinot character. Last tasted at Len Evans' 70th birthday, Hunter Valley, Sept 2000 ****. Michael Broadbent, Vintage Wine
