Dom Pérignon--Vintage 1990
In original cartons
Tasting note: First noted in 1997 at a Hallwag press conference to celebrate the one-millionth copy of the Kleine Johnson, Hugh's annual pocket book, and, with Hubrecht Duijker, the excellent - though I say so myself (I had a hand in it)- Weinatlas Bordeaux. The Dom Pérignon suitably honoured the occasion. A lovely wine, unusually rich,. Most recently a magnum welcoming seven guests at Wilf Jaeger's hilltop house south of San Francisco Bay, prior to his Romanée-Conti tasting: pale, elegant; noted as 'dry', crisp, very good length, lemon and with a smoky aftertaste. Last tasted March 2002 *****. Michael Broadbent, Vintage Wine
