'HIPPOPOTAME', A PATINATED BRONZE SCULPTURE BY FRANCOIS POMPON, DESIGNED IN 1918, CAST POST-MORTEM BETWEEN 1950 AND 1955
This model was cast by Hébrard without a base in three examples, then by Valsuani. It is put on a base in 1923 and was made in three different sizes, small, medium and one life size, in plaster, for the Exposition Coloniale, Paris, 1931.

Ce modèle est d'abord conçu sans socle et édité par Hébrard à trois exemplaires, puis par Valsuani. Il est posé sur un socle à partir de 1929. Il existe en trois tailles : petite, moyenne et grandeur nature pour l'Exposition Coloniale de 1931, en plâtre.
