'CORBEAU', GRAND MODEL, A PATINATED BRONZE SCULPTURE BY FRANCOIS POMPON, DESIGNED IN 1928, CAST IN 1929-1930
The first edition of this model was exhibited in the Salon d'Automne, paris, 1928. Only five examples of this grand model are known to exist. This model is a sort of testament by Pompon whose research on the synthesis and simplification of forms had begun through the observation of a white goose

La première épreuve de ce bronze est exposée au Salon d'Automne en 1928. Une réduction sera conçue en 1929. On ne connait que cinq épreuves du grand modèle à ce jour, dont une conservée au Musée de Dijon
Ce corbeau est une sorte de testament de François Pompon qui a voulu clore, par un oiseau noir, ses recherches sur la synthèse et la simplification des formes qu'il avait commencé en observant une oie blanche
Ce lot sera vendu avec un certificat d'authenticité de Madame Liliane Colas
