De forme balustre arrondie, à décor finement sculpté utilisant les inclusions naturelles brunes de la pierre, sur une face d'une oie sous des épis de blé, le revers agrémenté de rochers et d'une inscription, le bouchon en corail cerclé de métal

Lot Essay

While the subject matter of ducks or geese is popular on silhouette agate snuff bottles (see, for example, A Treasury of Chinese Snuff Bottles, Vol. 2, Quartz, nos. 272-277), the carving on this bottle is unusual because it is executed in high relief.
The stone brown inclusions and especially the mottled wing of the goose on the present bottle, creates a great effect.
