The subject of a horse (ma), monkey (hou) and bee (feng) provides the rebus mashang fenghou, 'May you be immediately elevated to the rank of marquis.'
Compare with another agate snuff bottle with the same decoration, from the Blanche B. Exstein collection and sold in our New York Rooms, 21 March 2002, lot 178.
